Ankara Institute Turkey and Istanbul Policy Center initiated a new research and webinar series titled “Turkey at the Crossroads (Eşikteki Türkiye)” to understand the social, political, and economic dynamics of the transformation process that Turkey experiences closely and evaluate the interactions of social, political, and economic dynamics with national, regional, and global developments.
Black Sea: Conflicting Ambitions and Power Projections
The Black Sea has stood as a pivotal geostrategic crossroad for centuries, serving as a bridge between Europe and Asia and attracting a variety of interests and power projections. Long-standing security concerns have gained heightened relevance since the onset of the war between Russia and Ukraine. This event aims to analyse the geopolitical, security and economic challenges confronting the Black Sea region today, considering its interconnection with the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, as well as its critical importance to a multitude of stakeholders. These include littoral states and international organisations – such as the EU and NATO.
